Star City Christian Academy
Admissions
Partnering with families to grow hearts and minds.
Who we’re looking for
A small, intentional learning community.
We believe education works best when families and teachers partner together in a shared mission. Because we are small, we look for families who:
- Desire a Christ-centered education
- Are actively involved in their child’s growth and learning
- Support a respectful, orderly and nurturing classroom environment
- Are accepting of our Christian values and teaching — families of all backgrounds are welcome
Please note: we are not certified for special education, and we do not accept students with a history of behavioral issues.
Application process
Four steps to joining us
Apply
A link to apply is posted on this website and on our Facebook page, beginning in March each year.
Attend a family interview
Once we receive your application we’ll contact you to arrange an interview. A one-time $25 application fee is due at the interview, capped at $50 per family. Cash or check accepted.
Admission decision
If accepted you’ll receive your enrollment packet, plus guidance for the EFA scholarship application and the public-school notification process where it applies.
Secure your place
Enrolled families receive regular updates and have real input in shaping school operations. Founding families help build this culture from the ground up.
Applications for the 2026–2027 school year are closed. Please call the office at 870-370-4640 if you would like to join the waiting list, or if you have a special circumstance and would like to be considered for late admittance.
Arkansas EFA funding
Your child may be able to attend for free.
The Arkansas Department of Education provides scholarship-like funding through an Educational Freedom Account for parents who wish to home school their children or enroll them in a micro-school or private school — and SCCA accepts it.
If you would like help completing the application, set up an appointment with us. We will be glad to assist.

Coming from public school
How the transition works
Because SCCA is a micro-school, all enrolled students are classified as homeschooled under Arkansas law. If your child is currently enrolled in public school, here is the process to follow.
Meet with the building principal
Before withdrawing your child, schedule a meeting with their current principal. This makes sure records are finalized and any outstanding debts, technology or materials are returned.
Submit a Notice of Intent to homeschool
SCCA will help you fill this form out and submit it on your behalf to the school and the state.
Staying in public school activities
If your child would like to continue in choir, band or sports at Star City School District, these conditions apply:
- A written request must be submitted to the building principal before the deadline for signups or tryouts.
- The student must be enrolled in the school during the period the activity or sport occurs — for band, during the period band is scheduled.
- Transportation is the family’s responsibility. Students follow official sign-in and sign-out procedures and may not ride the school bus.
- The student must meet the same academic and behavioral eligibility requirements as public school students.
- The student must reside in SCSD, unless their home district does not offer the desired activity.
Participation is not guaranteed, but students have equal opportunity to try out without discrimination.
