How this website is built to be usable by everyone, and how to tell us when it isn’t.

We want every family to be able to use this website, including families using a screen reader, a keyboard on its own, or a magnified screen.
How it is built
This site has been built to follow the Web Content Accessibility Guidelines (WCAG) 2.1, Level AA as best practice. In plain terms that means:
- Every page can be operated with a keyboard alone, and the item you are on is always visibly outlined.
- There is a “skip to main content” link at the top of every page.
- Text is checked for contrast against its background, so it stays readable.
- Photographs carry text descriptions for screen readers.
- Headings are in a logical order, so a screen reader can navigate by them.
- Movement is kept gentle, and if your device is set to reduce motion, the site honors that setting.
- The site works on a phone, and text can be enlarged without the layout breaking.
We have not used an accessibility overlay or pop-up accessibility widget. Those tend to get in the way of the assistive software people already use.
Where we know it falls short
The school calendar is also offered as a PDF, and PDFs are not always as easy to use with a screen reader as a web page. If that document is difficult for you, call the office and we will read it to you or send the information in another format.
Our introduction film is hosted on this website and carries captions — press the CC button on the player to turn them on. The full spoken content is also available as a written transcript.
