Star City Christian Academy was founded in the Fall of 2025 by two highly qualified, licensed teachers (and long-time besties!) to provide a Christian education in a small group setting. The micro-school (similar to a home-school cooperative) is a ministry of Fellowship Bible Church of Star City, Arkansas. We exist to glorify God, lead children to a relationship with Him, and guide students towards reaching their full academic potential. We believe in using research-based curriculum and teaching practices to make learning relevant, student-focused, and fun.
Lori Ottley is a K-6 certified teacher (all content) with 20 years of experience in the public school system. She is ESL (English as a Second Language) certified K-12 and has been the ELL Director for the Cleveland County School District for 10 years. She also teaches ASL (American Sign Language). She loves teaching children to read, write, and discover their interests.
Rebecca McGee is a 4-8 certified teacher (all content) with 18 years of experience in the public school system. She is ESL certified K-12, holds a Master of Education, and is a National Board Certified Teacher. She loves seeing children’s perspectives broaden, light bulb moments occur, and the world open up to them through hands on experiences.
