Public School

Transitioning from Public School
Because Star City Christian Academy is considered a micro-school, all enrolled students are classified as homeschooled under Arkansas law.
If your child is currently enrolled in public school, here’s the process you must follow to complete their transition:
Step-by-Step Withdrawal Process:
01
Meet with the Building Principal
- Before withdrawing your child, schedule a meeting with their current school principal. This helps ensure all records are finalized and any outstanding debts, technology, or materials are returned.
02
Submit a Notice of Intent (NOI) to Homeschool
- After the principal meeting, you must submit the NOI form to your district’s administrative office or complete it online.
- Hard copies of this form will also be provided during your SCCA interview.
- NOIs for 2025-2026 will be accepted beginning June 1, 2025.

Participating in Public School Activities
If your child would like to continue participating in choir, band, or sports at Star City School District, the following conditions apply:
- A written request must be submitted to the building principal before the deadline for signups or tryouts.
- The student must be enrolled in the school during the period that the activity or sport occurs.
(Example: If participating in Band, they must be enrolled during the period Band is scheduled.) - Transportation is the family’s responsibility. Students must follow official sign-in/out procedures and may not ride the school bus to or from school.
- The student must meet the same academic and behavioral eligibility requirements as public school students.
- Participation is not guaranteed, but students will have equal opportunity to try out without discrimination.
- The student must reside in SCSD, unless their home district does not offer the desired activity.
